Education, Training, and Experience
In 1992, Dr. Phillips completed a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (Counselling) , worked in a rural school division, then later at the University of Saskatchewan in the Department currently known Student Wellness. During that time, she completed a Ph.D. in the CPA/APA accredited Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Saskatchewan, completing a pre-Doctoral Residency in Edmonton, AB. During her residency, she completed rotations in Adult Psychiatry, Brain Injury, and Pediatrics, at Alberta Hospital Edmonton and Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.
Between 2000 and 2022, Dr. Phillips worked in Clinical Health Psychology, Royal University Hospital, providing outpatient and inpatient assessment and psychotherapy services to adults and children. As part of her role, she provided clinical supervision to psychology graduate students and predoctoral residents. Between 2019 and 2022, she served as Training Director for the Saskatoon and Area Predoctoral Residency Program, accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association.
Dr. Phillips has been on faculty in the College of Medicine since 2005 and has taught medical students and psychiatry residents seminars in the areas of learning models and behavioral interventions, and short term dynamic psychotherapy.
Alongside her public practice, has worked in private practice since 1992, starting her own practice in 2001, and expanding to full time private practice in the fall of 2022. She is an active member of the Canadian Psychological Association and served as a member of the section on Hospitals and Healthcare, volunteers on the Psychological Association of Saskatchewan Conference Committee, and serves the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists as a Chair for the Oral Examinations Committee.
